Development of the Mobile application for lawyers and upgrade of Legal Case Management System - Case Bank

The legal case management system CASE BANK created by Idea Design Group and has been used by the Legal Aid Service of Georgia (LAS) since 2009. In 2013 and 2015, the system has been updated in line with the increased authority of LAS.

In 2020, a complete technological and structural upgrade of the system was carried out and at the same time was developed new mobile application for lawyers (CASE APP) for Android phones, which enabled lawyers to reflect their actions and results in case management process.

This large-scale upgrade of CASE BANK was carried out taking into account the experience of using the system for many years, some processes were simplified, the function of automatic distribution of cases to lawyers in bureaus was added based on multi-indicator analysis. https://casebank.legalaid.ge

Legal Case Management System was developed in 2008, with different User roles, including their individual interfaces and functionalities:

  • Head of Legal Aid Bureaus (In 2008 was working more than 10 Legal Aid Bureaus in different regions of Georgia, for now number of regional legal aid bureaus is increased up to 38. Case Bank System includes up to 15 special modules:

  • The module of Applications registration and management,
  • The module of Case management (includes all operations and data for the criminal, civil and administrative proceedings in all instances - investigation, first instance, appeal, cassation),
  • The Management of Legal Case distribution and the calendar of Lawyer activities.
  • The module of Legal Consultation management.
  • Beneficiary Catalogue.
  • Reporting module, with more than 30 reports.
  • The module of notifications supporting by emails and SMS texts. Automated notification functionality, generated for the Case assignment to the attorney, Involvement or rejection by the attorney assigned the legal case, reminders for the activity deadlines, request and submission of special clarifications, etc.
