The first two-day training of the Teacher Digital Ambassadors Programme was successfully completed at the Poti Youth Hub, bringing together teachers from public and private schools in the municipalities of Poti and Khobi.
During the training, participants deepened their knowledge of modern digital technologies, digital literacy, online safety, the use of artificial intelligence in the teaching process, and Citizen Science approaches. Particular attention was given to the capabilities of the GoGreen platform and the use of environmental data in education and local initiatives.
Alongside theoretical sessions, the two-day programme also included practical activities. Working in groups, participants identified challenges faced by local communities and schools, developed potential initiatives, and designed concrete action scenarios to achieve specific objectives. Through practical exercises, the teachers strengthened their understanding of how digital tools, artificial intelligence, and Citizen Science approaches can be applied to address real community challenges and plan environmental initiatives.
Upon successful completion of the training, all participants received certificates under the Teacher Digital Ambassadors Programme. The knowledge acquired will enable them to enrich the teaching process with modern digital approaches, strengthen students’ digital competencies, and encourage their participation in environmental and community-based initiatives.
The programme does not end with the completion of the training. Building on the knowledge and practical experience gained, participating teachers, now certified as Digital Ambassadors, will plan and implement community activities in their schools and local communities. These activities will contribute to identifying and addressing local challenges and/or sharing the knowledge acquired through the programme with the wider community. Throughout this process, they will receive ongoing mentoring and professional support from the project implementation team of IDEA Design Group to help ensure the successful delivery of their initiatives and contribute to sustainable change at the local level.
At the same time, the Teacher Digital Ambassadors Programme supports digital transformation in schools, the introduction of innovative teaching practices, and the professional development of educators, enabling them to play an active role in strengthening the digital skills and environmental awareness of future generations.
The project is implemented by IDEA Design Group within the framework of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project “Greening the Future: Advancing Rights and Stability,” funded by the Government of Denmark.
