Citizen Digital Engagement for Green Transition Project Officially Launched

On 12 July 2026, the official launch event of the project was held at the Poti Youth Hub, bringing together representatives of the education sector and other key stakeholders from Poti and Khobi.

On 12 July 2026, the official launch event of the Citizen Digital Engagement for Green Transition project was held at the Poti Youth Hub, bringing together representatives of the education sector and other key stakeholders from the municipalities of Poti and Khobi.

The event was attended by the heads of the Poti and Khobi Educational Resource Centres, directors of public and private schools, teachers, and representatives of partner organizations.

During the event, Nana Dikhaminjia, Project Team Leader, and Mariam Zangaladze, CEO of Idea Design Group LLC, presented the project's objectives, expected outcomes, and planned activities. The presentation highlighted the importance of strengthening digital skills, promoting Citizen Science approaches, and integrating environmental data into education and community engagement to support sustainable local development.

Lili Pulariani, Digital Technologies Trainer, spoke about the growing importance of digital competencies in education and the role of emerging technologies in modern teaching. Giorgi Ghambashidze, Citizen Science Trainer, introduced participants to the concept of Citizen Science and emphasized the value of public participation and innovative technologies in environmental monitoring and evidence-based decision-making.

The event continued in an interactive discussion format, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange experiences, identify local needs, and share recommendations for the successful implementation of the project. The discussion reinforced the importance of collaboration among educational institutions, local stakeholders, and community members in advancing digital innovation, environmental awareness, and civic engagement.

Over the coming months, the project will implement a series of activities across the municipalities of Poti and Khobi aimed at strengthening the digital competencies of teachers and young people, promoting Citizen Science, supporting the use of the GoGreen platform, and encouraging community participation in environmental initiatives.

The project is implemented by IDEA Design Group within the framework of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project "Greening the Future: Advancing Rights and Stability," funded by the Government of Denmark.
